Responsibilities

Senior UI Designer

We believe our product helps photographers grow and maintain successful and sustainable businesses, and we seek team members committed to that vision. Our new Senior UI Designer will exemplify:

  • Five to seven years experience as a product designer, preferably for a SaaS or web application
  • A strong portfolio of web and product design work samples, including responsive designs that show transition between desktop/tablet/mobile
  • Attention to detail and acknowledgement that business requirements drive design deliverables
  • Experience with Agile teams and working within sprints
  • Experience working with business analysts, user experience architects, and user researchers, with strong understanding of usability principles as they relate to visual design
  • Awareness of current and emerging technology for implementing user interfaces for the web
  • Experience with Sketch/Zeplin, and Adobe CC

Additionally, the ideal Senior UI Designer will have experience with:

  • Building and maintaining product style guides

  • Five to seven years experience as a marketing designer, preferably for a SaaS or web application company
  • Proficiency with managing marketing design projects, from conception to completion
  • A strong portfolio that includes design examples for
    • web, marketing and brand demonstrating mobile/responsive
    • print and digital assets
    • typography and layouts
    • monoline iconography and illustrations
  • Experience with matching the illustration and brand styles of new design standards
  • Excellent project management skills and communication
  • Attention to detail and acknowledgement that business requirements drive design deliverables
  • Experience working with marketing professionals, copywriters, web developers, other designers, and a design team lead
  • Awareness of current and emerging technology for implementing web designs and other creative designs
  • Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Requirements

We believe our product helps photographers grow and maintain successful and sustainable businesses, and we seek team members committed to that vision. Our new Senior Experience Design Architect will have:

  • Five to seven years experience as a UX architect, interaction designer, experience designer, or designer/researcher, preferably for a SaaS or web application company
  • Experience working in Agile/scrum
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Awareness of technical development frameworks such as Angular, and the roles data, system performance, scalability, and time-to-market play in design planning
  • Experience refining business requirements into design specifications and deliverables
  • Work samples that indicate process and logical design thinking, including process flows, user stories, functional requirements, interaction designs, design specifications, and wireframes
  • Experience working with business analysts, user researchers, visual and UI designers, copywriters, developers, QA analysts, and senior stakeholders
  • Excellent project management skills and communication
  • Experience with Axure or other wireframing tools
  • Experience with Lucidchart or other workflow definition tools

Additionally, the ideal Senior Experience Design Architect will have experience with:

  • Photography skills, either as a professional or amateur, or other experience in the photography industry
  • Writing user stories or other business documentation
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business analysis and design leads to take user stories from business requirements to detailed design specifications
  • Create design documentation, including functional requirements, annotated designs, wireframes, process flows, and design reference guidelines
  • Work with developers to identify and refine requirements based on technical feedback, architecture, and component library definitions
  • Transition user stories from design specification to visual
  • "Own" tickets from requirements to product release, for a variety of projects
  • Facilitate stakeholder reviews and feedback
  • Work with user researcher to propose, plan and iterate user research projects
  • This is NOT a visual design role. Instead, you will partner with a visual/UI designer to deliver final design documentation.
