The #ShootProofPro series spotlights REAL photographers who inspire us and remind us to Focus On What Matters Most. This week: LAYNE SINGLETON, LAYNE’S FRAME
#ShootProofPro: Layne Singleton
ShootProof: What kind of photographs are you known for?
Layne: Wedding Photography. Having clean whites with edgier shadows.
ShootProof: Is photography your full-time gig? If not, what else do you do?
Layne: While I do work Laynes Frame “full time”, I [also] get to work for an amazing photo gallery delivery software company called ShootProof.
PRO NOTE: The ShootProof team is 50% photographers!
That’s right: when you meet someone from Support, Marketing, Development, and even the Leadership Team, there’s a pretty good chance you’re talking to another photographer! This helps us continue developing ShootProof with real working photographers in mind.
ShootProof: When you were a kid, what did you think you’d do for a living when you grew up?
ShootProof: What’s your Myers-Briggs type / Enneagram number / astrological sign, or any other fun tidbit that you feel perfectly sums up your personality?
Layne: Andy Dwyer
ShootProof: Share three adjectives your friends would use to describe you.
Layne: Calm. Ambitious. Silly.
ShootProof: What’s your favorite cause / charity to volunteer with or donate to?
Layne: Summer Lunch Program. This is a state program in Georgia that prepares and delivers food to students in low-income communities during the summer.
ShootProof: What’s your personal mantra?
“Don’t ever, for any reason, do anything for anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter where. Or who, or who you are with, or where you are going or… or where you’ve been… ever. For any reason, whatsoever.”
– Michael Scott
ShootProof: What makes ShootProof the right choice for your business?
Layne: The ease and simplicity it brings to delivering galleries to my clients.
ShootProof: Share three other tools / software platforms that your business could NOT survive without.
Layne: Lightroom, Photoshop, and QuickBooks. (Gotta keep a close eye on my money!)
ShootProof: What’s one of your 5-year goals (personal or professional)?
Layne: Be a more loving Husband, Father, and Friend.
I love the work I get to do, and I hope to continue growing in my craft and leaving lasting impressions on those whose stories have left an impression on me.
Also, I hope to photograph a National Park elopement soon!
ShootProof: What inspires you and gets you out of bed in the morning?
Layne: Time is fleeting, and life is short. I only have one life and hope to live it well.
ShootProof: What pisses you off and pushes your buttons?
Layne: Constant coughing…just got to be real, ask my wife, it drives me crazy.
ShootProof: What’s your definition of “Focus On What Matters Most”?
Layne: Steward the gifts, time, and relationships that have been entrusted to you well.
